Parent's FAQ - Team FAQ - Airsoft FAQ

Q: Can my kid own a airsoft gun if he is under 18?
A: Yes. Local laws most often only requires the person making the purchase be 18 years of age or older.

Q: What are the chances of my kid being hurt while playing airsoft?
A: There are a lot of risks as with any other sport. As long as they follow the rules, safety guidelines and use
common sense more than likely they will be fine. Our team has never had a serious injury. We have seen sprains, fractures and minor breakage of skin. Safer than a skate board.

Q: Does my kid need any special training to use an airsoft gun?
A: No. However, we will give direction when we see someone being stupid. If you wish to send your child to a firms safety course, we fully support your wish.

Q: Can I as a parent or guardian watch/spectate/join the game?
A: It depends on the specific game. Some AOs (Area of Operations) of Fields do not have a safe place for someone to watch from and
do NOT allow unarmed/unprotected persons on the field for any reason! In many cases observers get in the way. In ALL cases if you are a Non-Combatant on the field you must have a specific marking. Orange Vest, Red Hat or some uniform. Some events have had observers come out and take pictures as if they were the media. It is up to the person who organizes the game. As far as playing
Playing: Yes, you are encouraged to play along side your child. If your child is under the age of 13, you may not only be REQUIRED to be at the field, but may be REQUIRED to be playing as well.

Q: How can I help keep my kid safe?
A: There are MANY different ways for a parent to help!

1. Make sure your kid does NOT remove the orange marking from the airsoft gun unless they have a secured Red or orange cover on the barrel. (One that they can not shoot through.)
2. Make sure they never take an airsoft weapon to school for ANY REASON!!!
3. Make sure they don't use an airsoft weapon in a public place. Schools, parks, streets, anywhere that a civilian can see them. With exception to doing so inside the home, the gun should never leave it's case.
4. Have them buy a airsoft gun case/bag.
5. Make sure they know your concerns and opinions about airsoft. Set rules (such as the ones above), etc.

Q: I've heard "horror" stories of people being shot in the face, what really happens?
A: At our games, as well as any organized event, eye protection is required at all times. Eye protection will help eliminate
chances of a BB hitting the eyes. Teeth and faces have often been shot, yes, it hurts, it can break the skin, if you are concerned, make your child wear a full face mask.

Q: How old should my kid be?
A: Hard question. This is a case-by-case scenario. I've seen 14 year olds more mature than a few 35 year olds. But keep in
mind, most fields or organizations require players to be 14 years of age or older.

Q: Will my delicate little flower be exposed to a bad element?
A: Well..

Drugs? No.
Alcohol? At some camping events there is limited use, but minors found drinking will be banned from the sport.
Profanity? Yes, as in any situation, you will hear profanity. To be honest though, have you been on a playground in the last 30 years? Welcome to the real world. Profanity has been in use for well over 5000 years. If you have concerns about the damage that this may have on your child, please keep them in the play pen until age 25.
