Offensive Tactics of the 937th OSK

All enemy contact while in movement can be categorized as Offence.

Elements of an Attack:

Assault: Preferred to be the fastest and lightest of the forces in the attack.

Support: Heavy weapons and weapon systems with the ability of putting the largest amount of suppressive fire at a sustained rate.

Security: Small element protecting against flanking of the support and rally point. Also serves as a reserve force.

Hasty Attack:

Situation: Movement to Contact. Enemy position not known beforehand or time restraints do not allow for a Dilibrate attack.

Conditions: Mission may not allow time for proper Recon

Step 1. Enemy Contact is made.

Step 2. Support Element: Element under fire, reacts to fire. Moves to cover and suppresses Enemy.

Step 3. Assult Element: Remaining element consolidates and moves to a flanking position.

Step 4. Support Elements Shifts fire on signal

Step 5. Assault Element Signals Shift Fire and Support element shifts fire off of target to far fide of objective. If Assault element can be identified by the support unit, fire shift should lead 10 M in front of Assault advance.

Step 6. Far side of objective is reached. Assault Element takes up a security position to cover for counter attack. Support Element moves to Objective and conducts a second assault.

Step 7. Objective Commanders Re-consolidate and Re-Organize. Intel and Actions on Objective finished up. Report to Commander.

Step 8. All Elements return to direction of travel and move from area.
